RYA Powerboat Level 1 (PB 1)
A 1 day course teaching you the basics for handling a powerboat.This is a great course as a powerboat taster or if you’re not sure if you’d like to commit to a powerboat level 2 course (though this is NOT a requirement before taking Powerboat level 2). It’s also a perfect course for those that crew on a powerboat.
Minimum age 18 years (Dutch legal requirements), you must hold a valid health insurance
Maximum 3 students (and 1 instructor)
You will learn amongst others
- Safely departing
- Turning
- Coming alongside
- Picking up a mooring buoy
- Man Over Board recovery
- Basic knots
- Using lines and ropes
- On board communications
- To safely use a powerboat
- Correct use of your lifejacket
No prior experience is required, this course suits starters as well as a those who wants to be more prepared to use a powerboat.
You are requested to learn some knots (there are some videos available on youtube accesisble via the page FAQ ), this will safe some time which we then can spend on the water! Costs
- 340 EUR including VAT, course book, lunch, coffee, tea, fuel, use of waterproof jacket/trousers (if required), use of lifejacket
Enrolment
Via the page training dates, select a course and date and complete the online enrolment. Payment via check out (ideal). If you do not have a Dutch bankaccount, please send us an email for your enrolment. We do not accept creditcards as the this would mean we have to increase the prices with the creditcard fees.
